Beginning the college essay
Our workshop will give students a clear understanding of what colleges look for in an essay. Students will learn to mine their own experiences for narratives they want to develop, and–through a series of exercises– get comfortable writing about themselves in a voice purely their own. By the end of the four sessions, students will have potential essay topics, as well as some paragraphs of raw material from which to draw as they begin to draft.
